I am now the coolest man in the galaxy!

I just won this in an eBay auction. That’s right, Lando Calrissian himself, Mr. Billy D. Williams, hawking the elixir of life, Colt 45! It works every time! I can just feel my coolness factor exploding by having this in the apartment.
No commentsCowboy Bebop

I’m so excited! My Cowboy Bebop Knocking on Heaven’s Door DVD came from Hong Kong last night. The sound is fantastic! I’ve already seen the movie from a DiVX version I downloaded from Morpheus.
Bebop is my all-time favorite anime. Great action, really intelligent writing, and everything is “serious”, i.e. things obey internal laws of physics, no exaggerated animations to express emotions like giant heads, etc.
Anyway, if you haven’t seen it, Cowboy Bebop runs Saturday nights on Cartoon Network. There were only 26 episodes, plus the movie.
Speaking of TV, Angel last night was wonderful! I’ve been amazed at how much better it’s been than Buffy this season, which is quite a tough job. The hamburger oracle was the best!

Yes!!! I’ve wanted this for a while now. A few years back I tried to get tomsimpson.com, .org, .net, but they were all taken. Someone let tomsimpson.org lapse so it’s mine now! Woo-hoo!
Anyway, I decided to move my blog over here to tomsimpson.org. Seems more appropriate that way, as this site is all about me and my ramblings.

Congrats to my sister Corinne! On Valentine’s Day she got engaged to James. No date yet on the wedding, but it’s great that she’s getting married.
Congrats Corinne!

iPod
Well, I’ve been resisting and resisting for a while the iPod. I already have a mp3 player, the Nomad Jukebox, and I thought I didn’t need an iPod. But it’s sweet siren song kept calling to me, and I finally had to blow what little I had saved in checking and get one.
Man they’re cool! Tiny, and they also act as a firewire drive. I already have mine setup with a bootable OS 9 partition so I can run DiskWarrior from it. Pretty spiffy to have your mp3 player also be an emergency boot disk!
I finally finished watching the Trigun series. Pretty abrupt ending, kind of like a Neal Stephenson novel. Neal’s got a way of building up and up for a huge ending, then ending the book in a paragraph or two.
Today I get to try Metro North for the first time. It’s a train line running from Grand Central Station up through northern New York. I’m off to visit a girl in Westchester. For those of us living in New York City everything north of Harlem is considered Upstate New York. Crazy, since 95% of the state is up there.
