New micro camera

I just picked up a SiPix Blink camera. Only $40, can hold 100 images, this is a teeensy digital camera. Not the best quality, it only snaps 640×480 pics. Doesn’t do well at low light situations, no flash, but it’s only 2 inches by 2 inches by 1 inch deep. So small!

I have a nicer digital camera for the good pics, this is mostly to carry around at all times and take pictures of whatever looks fun. You can see the pics below, click for a larger picture.

Bourne Identity & Africa Pics

Well, I went to go see the Bourne Identity today. I liked it. Big fan of Franke Potente. It was all shot on location, which got me hankering to visit Europe again. I don’t have the cash for that, so instead I scanned in some of my old pictures from Portugal and Africa. Click on the picture to see a larger version.

Who is Tom Simpson?

Tom Simpson

Hey there! Here’s a bit of information about Tom Simpson, or me, as I like to call myself!

I was born in Oregon while my parents were in school and then grew up in Salt Lake City. I lived in a few places around there - Midvale, Sandy and Salt Lake City. I have two sisters, Corinne and Sue, and a brother, Dan. In High School I was fascinated with film and made a few fun projects including Randar the Lava Lizard. You can see a couple of my college films, The Evil Toasters From Beyond the Stars online if you’d like.

I served a mission in Portugal and in Cabo Verde (Cape Verde). Living in Africa was amazing, I really enjoyed it.

I came back and went to BYU and studied film again. I moved to New York City to pursue an internship with MTV. There I married Betsy Book and decided to stay in New York City. We later divorced.

I got my first job building web pages at CitySearch, largely based on the work I had done on xenafan.com. From there I moved on to work for Parent Soup and later Agency.com. I left Agency.com in March of 2000 and came to work for Magnani Caruso Dutton as a Senior Site Builder. I’ve been working there ever since.

I’m currently living with my girlfriend Chris in Park Slope. We’ve got two kitties, Moxie & Lady Jane Grey. My cousin Richard Knight lives out in New York City too.

I love taking photographs and plan on going back to school to earn a degree in photography at some point. You can see my photo gallery if you’d like. I’m also addicted to my gameboy advance sp and to TiVo. I currently have 5 computers in my apartment! The digital camera I use is the amazing Canon Digital Rebel (get the firmware hack for the digital rebel here).
