Zipzaps!

Whee! Just got one of these, and they rock! ZipZaps are tiny remote controlled cars. You can get ‘em at Radio Shack only. It’s the size of a matchbox car. You can replace the body, get bigger engines, different wheels, etc. The car is charged by the remote control, which uses AAA batteries. Takes 45 seconds to charge, then it’s off, zoom zoom zoom! Can’t wait to try this out with the kitties tonight. We had a race here in the office with two of them, tons of fun!

There’s a large review of ZipZaps up at ExtremeTech, comparing them with MicroSizers. They also tear apart the cars and look at the insides, so it’s a good reference.

Fool me once…

If you haven’t seen this yet, you MUST check it out! You’ll need the RealPlayer to view it. It’s President Bush talking about being fooled again…

Check out the 300k clip and the 56k clip.

I also made a wave file of it. Makes a fabulous error sound on your computer!

Photo Gallery

I’m trying out a new photo gallery script. I’m going to post my pictures in that as well as here on the blog, but it’ll make it easier to browse all of my photos at once, assuming you’re so inclined. :-)
I’ve also added a link to the gallery in the lower right corner of this page under Links.

Anyway, you can access the Photo Gallery here.

Standing on the sidewalk

While waiting for my friend Jason to meet me for a movie tonight, I started taking pictures of what was around me. All of these are taken from the same 3 foot square on the sidewalk in front of the the Loews 34th Street theater.

Kind of fun to see what’s interesting from one tiny spot in the city! I didn’t actually plan on taking a series like this, I just kept taking out my camera for just one more picture of something that looked interesting…

Soggy weekend

It was a really soggy weekend! Every event we went to this weekend was rained
out. We hit a really wacky modern dance festival outdoors in Battery Park. It
was raining though, so we were sitting on plastic bags and shower curtains.
The dance itself was pretty odd, you can click on the link to the video below.
The plastic lump in the middle of the frame was the musicians huddled under
a tarp.

Today we went to hit the West Indian day parade but it was washed out. I took
a quick couple of videos there, but no floats, no dancers. Sad, ’cause it’s
such a fun parade normally. Anyway, check out the pics & videos if you’re
so inclined.
