National Do Not Call List live today!
Woo!
New York State has long had a do not call list & website, but a national version just launched today at donotcall.gov. If you sign up you’ll be registered for 5 years. If a telemarketer calls they face an $11,000 fine! Nice! The website also has instructions on how to report a violation.
Check out this Reuters article for more background on the service.
No commentsThe best TV show you’re not watching - the Wire
HBO has a history of some really great TV shows - Sex and the City, Six Feet Under and the Sopranos. But no one is watching their absolute best show, The Wire. This show is amazing!
I was hooked on it starting last season. I tuned in, but didn’t have high expectations. I mean it’s called “The Wire”, how lame a name could it have? I was envisioning a show where you sat around and watched people huddled over wiretaps all the time.
What I found instead was one of the most deeply layered, textured shows I’ve ever seen. You get to know dozens of characters deeply, and understand things from both the criminal and the police point of view. Often you care more about the crooks. The cast is stellar. You won’t know anyone on it, but they’re all fantastic.
This new season has only just started, so there’s still time to watch. Do yourself a favor and check it out! Plus tonight HBO is rerunning the first 3 episodes back to back, so you can catch up for Sunday’s new episode after the Sex and the City premiere.
I love this show so much I watch it live while my tivo is grabbing it, that’s how much I like it!
No commentsRaiders of the Lost Ark is finally coming to DVD!
Snakes! Why did it have to be snakes!
Raiders of the Lost Ark is FINALLY coming out on DVD. You can preorder it on Amazon.com now. Probably my all-time favorite movie, ever. Don’t get me started about the renaming of it from “Raiders of the Lost Ark” to “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark” though. Still, finally it’s coming!

At first I thought this game looked silly. Microgames, who needs em? Me, it turns out! This thing is addictive as crack. Bascially you get thrown little microgames. Each is less than 5 seconds, then it’s on to the next one. You might have to jump over something, drive a car out of the way of a ball, jumprope, eat an apple or all kinds of crazy things. It just gets faster and faster, and it’s all random. It’s surprisingly fun to play! Don’t just take my word for it either.
