1 commentI’m going to Disneyland!
Yes, the annual Simpson trip to Disneyland (at least it seems almost annual!) is coming up. Chris and I are very excited!
I just wanted to pass along a Simpson family secret. If you stay at the Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites, it’s only $59 a night for a room with two queen beds, and it’s directly across from the main entrance to Disneyland (check out this panorama of the hotel to see the main entrance, which is at the traffic light). No shuttle to the park, just a half block to the light then cross the street! It doesn’t show up on Expedia or other travel sites, so just book directly at the hotel. They also have park hopper passes. We’re getting a $99 3 day pass that includes a free bonus 4th day, cheaper than the $129 4 day pass, plus it’s a park hopper so you can do the two good rides at California Adventure then go back to the good park.
Ah, sweet Disneyland!
Simpsons Season 4 DVD easter egg
So I got the new Simpsons Season 4 DVD, and promptly turned on the Marge vs. the Monorail episode written by Conan O’Brien. According to the DVD packaging, he’s on the commentary. I turn on the commentary from the menu and listen to the episode, but no Conan!
What’s wrong? Is fate playing a cruel trick on me? This, one of the best episodes ever, does not actually have the commentary? Turns out that the Conan commentary is hidden as an easter egg.
Once you start this episode, you have to manually press the Audio button on your remote control and select English track 5. Then you can listen to the glorious Conan commentary. This is apparently the only episode that has two commentary tracks. I don’t know why Fox didn’t provide a menu option to choose which commentary to listen to in this instance, but with your DVD remote you can still select and hear it.
2 commentsDiscontinued Disneyland
Chris, me and the whole Simpson family are going to Disneyland over Labor Day. Because of that I’m doing some surfing of Disneyland links and came across A Visit to Yesterland – The Discontinued Disneyland, which lets you see all the old discontinued Disneyland attractions. Pretty sweet!
This links up well with the Old Disneyland pictures I found a while back.

My cousin Rich has a new job now, working at Josie’s Restaurant on 37th street. If you stop by and eat there, be sure to tip him well!
