Why does he want to make a movie? Is there something left in the Xenaverse that he forgot to murder?

    Hey…I can’t wait..
I’m not sure what they’d do with it…But I’d love to go see it.

Xena Rocks. A Movie would rock.

i am a die-hard xena fanatic from australia. but i feel that
a xena movie will never happen because:
1)you couldn’t have a movie without ares, & considering the fact
that kevin smith is dead, doesn’t help. having someone else play
the role, would not be right, kevin is ARES!
2)Lucy Lawless & Renee o’connor, would both have to reprise
their roles. you couldn’t have say lucy playing xena, & someone
else playing gabrielle or vice versa, 1 couldn’t do it
    without the other.
it wouldn’t be the same if either role was re-cast.
lucy & renee are xena & gabrielle.
3)too much time has passed since the series ended. it
would be better to just leave us with our happy memories & not
    destroy what is beautiful.

the only possible way that a xena film could work is if all the
    original actors(including lucy & renee)
agreed to do it, along as it was a worthwhile story
that doesn’t take away anything from the original series, just
    adds to it.
i am a die-hard fan, but i feel that unless these elements
happened, then rob tapert should just let it go.

I’m all for it. Who cares how much it brings in to the box offices? Honestly, what die-hard fan really cares about ratings? It’s all about Lucy and Renee! I hope Rob gets everything straightened up soon and makes the movie. I’m really excited. Long live Xena and Gabrielle!!

If I could make some wee comments about the above…

Although it would have been nice for Ares to be in the film, it is by no means essential, look at When Fates Collide and Friend in Need, they were huge dramatic stories that did fine with other characters. The only people needed to carry the film would be Lucy and Renee.

There really shouldn’t be an issue about getting the two leads to reprise their roles, it’s not like they’re bogged down in work commitments right now (at least the IMDB doesn’t mention if they are). The only issue may be if the studio thinks they’re too old, but since there is still a strong fan base, I dont think that would be too big a problem. It has only been like 4 years since the show ended (Star Trek had a 10 year gap).

I’m not too worried about it detracting from the original show, I mean it’s not like the series didn’t survive “Hercules and Xena - The Animated Movie: The Battle for Mount Olympus” ;)
I’d just really like them to do a addendum to Sea 6, if they did the film as a modern day uber-story I may cry ;) but hey, it would be better than nothing :D

if rob tapert was smart, he would leave all us die hard fans with our beautiful memories & not destroy what is legendary.

I would love a Xena movie about Gabby’s Journeys afterwards. Ive sat and wondered what might of became of her character. Like if they make a movie Gabby doesnt need to revive Xena, she already accepted the fact that she was gone. But something could happen to bring her back like trouble with Eve or something. Just some thoughts.

Fuck a Xena movie, Im all about the “return of Minya” or “Minya and Howers quest”. Now that would be entertaining. Or a porn XXX Gabby and Virgil and Minya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Anonymous September 10th, 2005 1:18 pm

xena movie would be great, we need to see Gabby hurl that chakram with pride!
sooner rather than later, BATTLE ON!!!!!!!!

    Kieran a fan amoung thousands!

Why don’t you Xena fans just get real drunk and watch two episodes in a row? That way you can watch something for two hours, that the alchohol makes new to you and it has Xena and her lesbiantics in it? It’s an easy fix.

I’m not opposed to a Xena movie…I’d personally love to see one. But I hope they don’t spend so much time pussyfooting around that it becomes pointless. I personally didn’t care for the ending of AFIN, you don’t kill the hero/heroine. It was a gutsy and daring move to be sure, but I still didn’t like it. IF the movie if greenlighted and they do it, I would hope that they would REMOVE a lot of the slapstick that seemed to hound the show near the end. Lucy is quoted in the article as saying she’d like it to be comedic and I don’t think that would be fair to the fans. But I guess that would depend on the storyline. While Xena needed humor, it’s like Lucy once said in a TV Guide interview–Joxer was for comic relief..the comedy was a role not meant for Xena or Gabrielle to fulfill.

I agree that we need a movie…..but making the movie a comedy will be ……well…..a joke. The movie needs to be dramatical and they need to bring Xena back from the dead and KEEP HER ALIVE when the movie ends. A Dramatical movie, filled with actions scenes, a good story plot, and a little humor is the best formula.

I am all for a Xena Movie!! That is a great Idea. I would love to see how they bring her back. Xena is the greatest shows ever! It is because of Xena that I am going to college to be a police officer!! Xena is the best LONG LIVE XENA!!!!!!!

I don’t think there should be a movie, honestly I think it would ruin the feeling overall. But hey, I would of course go see it IF there was to be a movie made. Seeing as I am a huge fan like a ton of other people :)

I live for this movie everyday. I hope it does happen. I pray everyday that this movie will happen. If it does I will be the first in line to see it, and I would see it like four times. The movie would be good if it had drama in it, with a little comedy. Having the whole movie comedy would ruin it. It doesn’t fit with bringing Xena back to life. The Movie will happen, I hope.

It would be be a great idea as an alternative to the formula movies out there-one plot just different titles, actors, and names.
